President’s Message
Habitat for Humanity is one wonderful ministry composed of many different components, all working toward the same end: eliminating poverty housing from the face of the earth. When people hear the name Habitat for Humanity, they have certain expectations: simple affordable, decent housing; a hand up, not a hand out; a Christian ministry, with people helping people help themselves.
The next two years will be especially busy ones for Greene County Habitat. The City of Xenia has donated a beautiful lot on East Second Street. The house for this site is being built by the Greene county Career Center, and will be moved this summer. This is the fifth house built by the Career Center, in partnership with us.
We hope our application to the Thrivent Builds Homes Program will be accepted. We are looking forward to working with our good friends from Peace Lutheran Church on this project.
As always, I, as President, am so very thankful for all the volunteers and donations that help us carry out our mission. This happens because expectations are set, articulated and agreed upon by everyone carrying out the mission.
May God bless you all!
Bryan Rocker, President
